Merc With A Movie: The 16-Year Odyssey of the "Deadpool" Film
Heat Vision reports that Predators screenwriters Mike Finch and Alex Litvak have been hired to tackle the Masters of the Universe screenplay for Columbia Pictures. Previously developed at Warner Bros. with Kung Fu Panda director John Stevenson attached, that version of Masters of the Universe eventually fell apart. The property has since found a home with Columbia.
Forward movement has eluded Masters of the Universe due in part to the number of chefs in the kitchen, including toy manufacturer Mattel and studio executives. Apparently, Finch and Litvak’s pitch “attempted to balance a treatment that would convince the studio it was cinematic and keep the toy company satisfied that its characters were being portrayed appropriately.”
No further crew or casting announcements have been made, so you can keep those fingers crossed for that Dolph Lundgren cameo.
