AMC Adds Two More Survivors To The Walking Dead

AMC has discovered two new survivors for Frank Darabont’s adaptation of The Walking Dead: The Shield‘s Laurie Holden and relative newcomer Steven Yeun.
Based on the long-running Image Comics series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, The Walking Dead follows a group of people struggling to survive in the wake of an epidemic that’s left the world overrun by zombies.
Holden, who appeared in Darabont’s The Mist and in several episodes of The X-Files, will play the group’s sharpshooter Andrea, who falls in love with a much older man. Yeun, a comedian and faculty member of The Second City, has been cast as Glenn, the camp scavenger who ventures frequently into Atlanta for supplies.
The two join Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn and Sarah Wayne Callies in the sprawling cast. Adam Fierro (Dexter, The Shield) also has been added to the production as a consulting producer.
AMC has made a six-episode commitment to the series, which will debut in October as part of the cable channel’s annual Fearfest horror marathon. Production is set to begin in August.
