U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens’ next assignment takes him far outside of Harlan County, as actor Timothy Olyphant has been hired to replace Sharlto Copley in I Am Number Four, director D.J. Caruso’s forthcoming adaptation of the novel from James Frey and Jobie Hughes.

According to Variety, Copley had to drop out of the DreamWorks science fiction film due to scheduling conflicts with upcoming press obligations for Fox’s “The A-Team.” Olyphant will take over Copley’s role and plans to shoot the film during his hiatus from Justified, his lawman FX series that just received a second season order.

I Am Number Four tells the tale of a group of nine aliens who escape to Earth after their planet is decimated by a rival alien species. The story centers on the titular Four, an alien blending in with his surroundings as a high school teenager, but his cover is jeopardized by the arrival of a deadly alien hunter. Olyphant plays Henri, Four’s guardian and mentor.
