Which Season Finale Was Best?

Lost isn’t the only show reaching an end these days – We’re at the point of the year where all manner of series are reaching their season finales, whether they be good (Fringe), bad (Smallville, but I’ve felt that for the last few years – And their season finales used to be the best thing about the show) or just like other episodes with a subplot that leads to a cliffhanger of sorts (Both Castle and Bones, which separated their lead couples just as they were coming to some kind of emotional realization about each other). But which one impressed you the most? Choose your favorite below, and feel free to leave reasons why in the comments, as well.

really not fair to post this today, you should wait till next week when Chuck, 24 amd Lost are all done. not to mention NCIS et al.

  • Bwn

I thought the finale of Community was the best of all of those…

  • Magiblack

Don't forget Grey's Anatomy. I'm still recovering emotionally.

  • Shatners_Bassoon

Ashes to Ashes, most definitely. A lovely send-off to Gene Hunt et al.

  • Angelo2113

Smallville was actually one of the best. The first three minutes were freaking amazing. And then a possible New Gods introduction in the episode left me waiting to see what's going to go on during the last season of the series.

Supernatural was also a great one. The last scene was one of those “WTH?!” moments, it was off the walls awesome. So I'm looking forward to that, which may also be the last season of the series since Supernatural and Smallville are together again on the same night. Totally AWE…wait for it…SOME!

  • Paul

I agree with Angelo2113. Smallville wrapped up the season nicely, gave some hints about next season, and played with us a little bit (the opening). Too bad Chloe wont be back for more than a few eps next season. I am really hoping that DC retcons her into Superman continuity.

Well, I think another poll is easily enough done.

  • preasant

are you kidding all of them were way to easy to plot yourself as you watched them there was no prize at the end when you could see it coming that is like getting suckered punched by some one in a coma that dose not mean I did not like them they were very enjoyable can not wait for next year (wake me when you are done you will be the only one having fun)

Nothing was as good as the Season finale of Spartacus. Nothing!

  • apO

Even though you still have more finales to go, I think Greys Anatomy finale is the one to beat. Just an amazing tense, emotional two hours which had me on the edge of my seat.

    shatners comment was bang on

ASHES TO ASHES FINALE SMASHED IT!!!

it aint the 1980's it purgatory!

  • Sander

And what about spartacus blood and sand? I thought that was the best till now

  • Chuck Wells

“V” ended on a surprisingly high note based on their basically ups & downs kind of season. The final certainly warranted fans giving the series another chance – if it actually does return at mid-season.

Plus, Mitchell and Vandervoort are awesomely hot, and that's something!

  • Liam

Parks and Recreation! Best comedy of the year!

  • Larfleeze

Its a crime Spartacus Blood and Sand is not on this list….now that was a season finale!

  • Solaris01

I agree with john, this Poll is not really fair, we need a new more complete Poll once the other season finales of other shows are finally shown. I don't watch Lost (but I will soon, lol), but I know that's the one most people want to see. Chuck's season 3 finale is the one I'm really looking forward to, and it looks sweet, woohoo!

  • Wagz

Fringe was awesome, even if it didn't really cover any new ground (who didn't see Olivia's “return” coming?) Smallville was fun and on pace with the tone of the rest of the season (glad to see Zod get what he had coming to him. . .that plot thread was starting to wear on me). The wife watches Grey's and while I poked my head up from my comics from time to time, I got the feeling it was a retcon of the merger storyline that began the season (time to clean up . . .too many characters to handle here!). I agree with most though, Chuck has hit its stride and THAT's the finale I'm most looking forward to.

  • Zach

Really? Maybe it's because I'm not an Annie/Jeff 'shipper (I think they have chemistry, but Annie is way too young for him), but I thought it was one of the weakest of the season. I wished they ended on the episode before last.

  • Steve

I admit Fringe was a good episode but the best season finale? Maybe if the ending 'twist' hadn't been obvious from the point in the ep where they used that grenade…

  • s1rude

It should be noted that Fringe's season finale was also a “separate the lead couple just as they are ready to take a step in their relationship” plot device.

  • DaVeO

So far Fringe was my fave (even though I predicted the ending) with Supernatural a close second. But 24 has yet to be shown, and the last five weeks have been pretty awesome.

  • Weeji

I was definitely not ready to enjoy “V” 's finale as much as I did, but when I looked at the list in the poll, it was the one that had the most interesting twists setting up for next season. I would say that its also the show I enjoy the least on a weekly basis, but the finale left me ready to enjoy it more.

sorry, replied to the wrong comment.

Lets not forget about Flash Forward. Last couple episodes were kind of slow, but should be setting up for a big finale. Also Breaking Bad has three more episodes to go, and all things point to something big going down. So we shall see. And tomorrow night season finale of Ancient Aliens for what it's worth, just maybe the best thing on the tube. Yay!

    Supernatural was awesome!

  • Dan

House, followed closely by Fringe, was the best finale this season (except Lost). It moved the story of the characters, clearing some emotional hurdles along the way.

  • Luke

    Um Hello 24!
