Hawkeye Cast For Marvel’s Avengers?

 

The movie may be two years away, but the casting for The Avengers is already underway, with the star of one Oscar-winning movie said to be ready to slip on the purple shorts and cowl of Marvel’s wisecracking archer.

Resurrecting an old rumor, Ain’t It Cool’s Harry Knowles is reporting that The Hurt Locker‘s Jeremy Renner will play Clint Barton in the 2012 Avengers movie, and possibly debut in a cameo appearance in a Marvel movie currently shooting… which would presumably be Thor. With Nick Fury, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and, presumably, Black Widow already set for the movie, the addition of Hawkeye suggests a line-up not unlike Marvel’s The Ultimates, don’t you think…?
