First Look: Andrew Lincoln As Rick Grimes In The Walking Dead

AMC has released the first production photo of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead, Executive Producer Frank Darabont’s highly anticipated adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic series.

“Writing this book for the past seven years I’ve gotten very close to the character of Rick,” says Kirkman, who’s also an executive producer of the TV series. “Andrew Lincoln embodies every aspect of the character that fans know and love. After seeing this photo I don’t think that there will be a doubt in anyone’s mind that he’s perfect for the role.”

The six-episode first season, which debuts in October during AMC’s annual Fearfest horror marathon, stars Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden and Steven Yeun.
