Happy Town Gets A Whole Lot Sadder

It was bad enough that ABC pulled the midseason murder mystery Happy Town just three weeks after its premiere, returning the Twin Peaks wannabe to Wednesday nights this month to burn off the remaining episodes. Now the network has announced Happy Town will disappear again — blame the Magic Man! — with the final two episodes airing on a Saturday night in July.

I reviewed the first episode, and thought that, despite its many shortcomings, Happy Town showed some potential. I was alone in that assessment, apparently. Farewell, citizens of Haplin, Minnesota. Farewell.

A classic case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

At any rate, wasn't Happy Town supposed to be a 8-episode mini-series?

When all's said and done, obviously the series was not expected to survive.

Man, are you serious??? I don't watch that much TV as it is, but everytime I find something worthwhile to settle into, I gets yanked. First Flash Forward, and now this. With all the “Housewife, closet gay vampires, dancing idiots, and fake-ality” shows on TV, all the stuff that's actually of some substance goes away, way too soon.

    I smell a conspiracy.

You should check out the Rubicon on AMC starting Aug. 1 (I think).

I saw the sneak preview after Breaking Bad, and has conspiracy everywhere. Talk about paranoia. ;-)
