See The First Official Poster For Red

Although Summit Entertainment’s Red may differ significantly from the 2003 Warren Ellis-Cully Hamner miniseries on which it’s based, this first poster for the film nicely references one of the covers of the WildStorm comic (at right).

Directed by Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, The Time Traveler’s Wife), Red stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren as former top agents for the CIA. However, the secrets they know have made them the agency’s top targets. Framed for assassination, they must work together to keep one step ahead of their pursuers and stay alive. To stop the operation, the four of them embark on an impossible, cross-country mission to break into CIA headquarters, where they’ll uncover one of the biggest conspiracies in government history.

Summit will bring the film’s director and stars to Comic-Con International on July 22. Red opens on Oct. 15.

At least they acknowledged that much about the comic.

It's funny, I love Marvel comics, but I've grown tired of their film adaptions. I'd rather just read the comics. Everytime I hear about an indy book getting a film made I think 'wow, that's great. I bet the creators get a decent paycheck out of it'. I still don't see those films either, but I think it's great.:)
