DC Comics' July Highlights: "Batgirl," "Nightwing" and a "New Super-Man"
Summit Entertainment ends the week with the final two character posters for Red, focusing on Mary-Louise Parker and Karl Urban.
Directed by Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, The Time Traveler’s Wife), Red is based on the 2003 WildStorm miniseries by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. Here’s the film’s synopsis:
Red is the story of Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive. Also in the cast are Karl Urban, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfuss, Ernest Borgnine, Julian McMahon, James Remar and Rebecca Pidgeon.
Summit will bring the film’s director and stars to Comic-Con International on July 22. Red opens on Oct. 15.
