Ahead of The Walking Dead panel this afternoon at Comic-Con International, AMC has officially announced actors Michael Rooker (Jumper) and Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints) have joined the adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s long-running Image Comics series. They play Merle Dixon and and Daryl Dixon, “a redneck ex-con and his equally dangerous brother.”
The network also revealed additional members of the “survivor’s camp”: Andrew Rothenberg as Jim; Juan Pareja as Morales; Iron E. Singleton as T-Dog; Jeryl Prescott Sales as Jacqui; Melissa McBride as Carol; and Adam Minarovich.
What’s more, the network released new stills featuring Rooker, Singleton, Dixon and star Andrew Lincoln.
If you want still more Walking Dead, AMC offers a tour of its amazing Comic-Coon booth, which recreates the farmhouse scene from the series’ pilot. Although in that episode the words “God Forgive Us” a scrawled in blood on the wall, the show’s blog notes that for the convention display the language had to be changed to “Please Forgive Us.”
Frank Darabont’s adaptation of The Walking Dead, which debuts in October on AMC, stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Steve Yeun, Emma Bell and Chandler Riggs.
