Spider-Man Musical To Finally Open This December
It’s the greatest Christmas gift comic fans who also love the bright lights of Broadway could hope for: Troubled musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark will officially open December 21st this year.
The date was announced by Sony yesterday, with November 14th being given as the start of preview performances. Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Julie Taymor’s perpetually-beleaguered show will definitely open at the end of the year; it’s already missed its original start date due to financial difficulties, and has since lost all of its original lead cast as a result (Reeve Carney, Jennifer Damiano and Patrick Page have taken over the roles). I’m pulling for them to all break metaphorical legs, anyway, if only to bring an end to the long-running saga.
