Fantastic Four Casting Rumors Are A Stretch

The X-Men franchise isn’t the only superhero property getting a makeover from 20th Century Fox, as the studio is also hard at work on retooling the Fantastic Four movies. Not a lot is known about Fox’s plans for Marvel’s first family, except that the previous family consisting of Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis won’t be involved in the reboot. Instead, Fox is looking elsewhere — and two front runners have already emerged for the role of Reed Richards.

Screen Rant cites trusted inside sources saying that Adrien Brody (Splice, Predators) and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, From Paris with Love) are Fox’s top two choices to stretch into the role of Mr. Fantastic, the elastic and brilliant scientist at the core of the team. Additionally, the reboot’s rumored title of Fantastic Four Reborn is apparently false.

While neither Brody nor Meyers are officially confirmed for the movie, the mere suggestion of both actors seems to indicate that Fox is going in a more dramatic direction with the Fantastic Four do-over. Keep it locked into Spinoff Online as we wait to see how this rumor plays out.

let it die… ALL of the Fox Marvel movies have been disappointing, with the exception of the Bryan Singer X-men movies. You know the higher ups add Marvel aving been kicking themselves for ever sigining on with the Evil Empire (News Corp) ever since they hit with Iron Man, and I can't see Fox suddenly figuring out that these movies work better when studio execs aren't trying to make them less serious or more Hollywood

I don't care who they cast…JUST GET A BETTER DIRECTOR!!

I love the Fantastic Four. They are my favorite superhero group, but even I didn't like the movies. They should get the guy that directed the Incredibles! He knows how to write the Fantastic Four better than the Fantastic Four. It was the ultimate homage.
Also, Del Toro would be great.

You're right Buzzworks.I don't think the problem with the first two Fantastic Four movies was the cast. With the exception of Alba, they were good. It was the script and the director. Hiring the director who did “Barbershop” was just bad business decision.
