Goyer’s First Novel Bought By Warner Bros

It’s the kind of synergy that almost seems planned: Warner Bros has bought the movie rights to the debut novel from David Goyer, one of the writers for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and the upcoming new Superman movie.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Goyer will both produce and write the script for the movie version of Heaven’s Shadow, the first of an alien invasion trilogy that he’s co-writing with Michael Cassutt. The novel will be published next July, with the next two books (Heaven’s War and Heaven’s Fall) following soon after; no date has been set for the movie, but Goyer is expected to be busy with the scripts for the follow-up to Dark Knight and new Superman movie – which he’s also rumored to direct – for some time.
