John Woo’s Next Movie Will Be WWII In IMAX

 

What’s better than learning that John Woo’s new movie will be a WWII drama about Chinese and American pilots fighting together against the Japanese? Learning that it’ll be an overwhelming IMAX experience.

IMAX announced yesterday that Woo’s next feature, Flying Tigers, will be released on the bigger screen. In a press release, Woo said,

It has always been a dream of mine to explore shooting with IMAX cameras and to work in the IMAX format and the strong visual element of this film is incredibly well-suited to the tastes of cinemagoers today. Using IMAX for Flying Tigers would create a new experience for the audience and I think it would be another breakthrough for Chinese movies.

The movie starts shooting next year.
