Fox Gives Series Order To Locke & Key

Fox has made it official, giving a direct-to-series order to Locke & Key, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci adaptation of the horror comic by Joe Hill.

Debuting in 2008 from IDW Publishing, Locke & Key is a series of miniseries revolving around a family that moves to a spooky mansion in Lovecraft, Massachusetts, whose many doors can transport its residents to other worlds or bestow them with supernatural abilities. Written by Hill, author of Heart Shaped Box and son of Stephen King, and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez, the series won the 2009 British Fantasy Award for best comic or graphic novel.

Kurtzman and Orci (Star Trek, Fringe) will produce the project through their first-look deal with DreamWorks Studios. Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) will write and produce the series, a collaboration between DreamWorks TV and K.O. Paper Products through the latter’s deal with 20th Century Fox Television. Other producers include Heather Kadin, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and IDW Publishing’s Ted Adams.

I enjoyed the first graphic novel a lot. If they don't mess with it much it should be really good.
