Ron Moore To Conjure Harry Potter-Inspired TV Series

Ronald D. Moore, the man who reimagined Battlestar Galactica as a 21st-century political allegory, will forsake science fiction for fantasy with his next project, a drama for NBC.

Described by Deadline as “an adult Harry Potter set in a world ruled not by science but by magic,” the series is part of Moore’s new two-year development deal with Sony Pictures TV. The company is apparently dedicated to the project, as it’s agreed to pay up to $2 million if the drama doesn’t film a pilot and series.

I´m definetly interested. I would gladly watch it. :)

I would watch it! I hope they do it!

    Sounds like “The Dresden Files”

  • Mhalteman

Not really. “The Dresden Files” was a pretty deliberate attempt to take the concept of a hard-luck P. I. show like “The Rockford Files” (I don't think the title similarity was a coincidence) and putting a spin on it with the magical aspect. Not really much like Harry Potter for adults at all. Just because they both deal with magic doesn't mean they are the same kind of show, any more than “Hill Street Blues” was the same kind of show as “Starsky & Hutch”.
