Yet Another New Mutant For X-Men: First Class

I read X-Men comics for years, and I don’t remember any Riptide – but that doesn’t mean that he won’t be appearing in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, portrayed by Spanish actor Álex González.

González was first rumored to be playing a character called “Tornado,” before translations got corrected and Riptide was properly identified. A quick Google search later, and it turns out that I do know Riptide – he’s identified as one of the Marauders behind 1986′s Mutant Massacre, and the one that Colossus killed in the Morlock tunnels – which does bring to mind the question, are we going to see a potential 1960s massacre in this franchise reboot?

Exactly how many characters are in this movie? Christ.

I guess the Paul Greengrass technique of getting an ADD-riddled five-year-old to film your movie has transformed into dangling keys over your two-year-old screenwriter's head while he throws the action figures of the characters he wants in the film at the wall.

Riptide is one of Mr. Sinisters henchmen. He spins really fast and can throw super dense throwing-stars.

This feels like a lost of misdirection in the casting announcements. Either that or they're wildly reaching into the X-Men toybox for characters like the Wolverine movie did.

I have a feeling that this movie will be over saturated with characters and its going to confuse everybody and also lead to no one getting the characterization they deserve.

if this means they are filming the mutant massacre, that will be freaking awesome. Hopefully Gambit will lead Sinisters marauders to the Morlocks tunnels. This could be way better than I thought.
