Axel-In-Charge: "Secret Wars" Jam Session Talking "A-Force," "Ultimate End" and More
One of the worst-kept secrets in Hollywood — or anywhere, for that matter — was revealed today as Fox at last announced Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson at the judges’ table for the 10th season of American Idol. It’s a little anticlimactic, but what can you do?
In addition, Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, will serve as an in-house mentor for the contestants. He’s an industry veteran who has produced albums for the likes of U2, Eminem, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Stevie Nicks and Patti Smith.
The participation of Lopez and Tyler has been a given for some time, who reports emerging in mid-August that the Aerosmith frontman had signed on for considerably less money than his fellow judge, who reportedly asked for “north of $20 million.” (That’s still considerably less than the estimated $36 million a year made by Simon Cowell.)
The 10th season of American Idol kicks off in January.
