"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" Trailer Officially Released
Darren Aronofsky is reportedly close enough to a deal with Fox to direct X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 that talks have turned to shooting portions of the sequel in New York so that the filmmaker and star Hugh Jackman don’t have to inconvenience their families.
According to Deadline, the studio is looking to begin shooting on a New York sound stage in March to accommodate Aronofsky’s awards-season obligations following the Dec. 3 opening of Black Swan. From there, production will move to Japan, where most of Wolverine 2 is set.
Written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie), the film is based, in part, on the 1982 Wolverine miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, and has Logan battling ninjas and the politics of the criminal underworld for the heart of his ex-lover, the daughter of a Japanese crime lord.
The first Wolverine opened on May 1, 2009, and went on to gross $373 million worldwide.
