Wolverine 2 To Start Filming In March, Almost Certainly With Aronofsky At Helm

Darren Aronofsky is reportedly close enough to a deal with Fox to direct X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 that talks have turned to shooting portions of the sequel in New York so that the filmmaker and star Hugh Jackman don’t have to inconvenience their families.

According to Deadline, the studio is looking to begin shooting on a New York sound stage in March to accommodate Aronofsky’s awards-season obligations following the Dec. 3 opening of Black Swan. From there, production will move to Japan, where most of Wolverine 2 is set.

Written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie), the film is based, in part, on the 1982 Wolverine miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, and has Logan battling ninjas and the politics of the criminal underworld for the heart of his ex-lover, the daughter of a Japanese crime lord.

The first Wolverine opened on May 1, 2009, and went on to gross $373 million worldwide.

I think you are deluding yourself. Unless they are leather biker suits, this series (a la Singer) hates costumes more than “SMALLVILLE”. Unless you consider Mystique, no one in this series has ever worn a mask or attempted to disguise an identity. While you are reflecting on a grand total of 4 movies to check my facts, I will move to another topic.

By the way, Cyclops doesn’t count; he was wearing a protective visor or eyewear. Magneto and Juggernaut do not count either; they were wearing protective headgear. In fact the mask aspect of Juggernaut’s headgear was removed entirely.

Also while we are being exact, Wolverine of the comic is something like 5’2 or 3 feet tall. Hugh Jackman is 6’2 or 3. If you are still looking for comic semblances you will continue to be disappointed.

Brother, to be honest I feel your pain.

Sorry, I’m having an involuntary and convulsive geek attack and yes I wish I could stop this, (please forgive me).

When Colossus and Iceman use their powers their identities are typically obscured. So no, Colossus and Iceman do not count, what you are seeing is an innocent manifestation of their mutant powers. They are making very little attempt to mask their identities.

Please don’t respond I need to rest.
