New Poster For The Green Hornet

Less than two weeks after the release of the first poster for The Green Hornet, Columbia Pictures has rolled out a second, more action-packed image.

Director Michel Gondry’s adaptation of the 1930s radio serial turned 1960s TV series stars Seth Rogen and Jay Chou as the Green Hornet and Kato, vigilantes who pose as criminals in order to fight crime. Here’s the official synopsis:

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the son of LA’s most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene – until his father (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father’s more industrious and inventive employees, Kato (Jay Chou), they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. But in order to do this, they decide to become criminals themselves – protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets. The Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, and with the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they begin hunting down the man who controls LA’s gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.

The Green Hornet opens in 2D and 3D on Jan. 14.

This movie is going to bomb.

is green hornet a super-hero, technically? is this a comic-book movie, technically? you know it’s going to be considered that way, but I prefer to split hairs and say “no – he’s a pulp / radio hero” and “no – it’s a TV-show movie.” Cause I’m ornery like that.

I like Michel Gondry and Seth Rogen, so maybe? Would’ve liked a female Kato, cause I’m hornery like that.

Oh, yeah – the poster reminds me of the Alec Baldwin Shadow
