Ahead of its next issue, which hits stands on Friday, Entertainment Weekly has released 10 new images from Game of Thrones, HBO’s upcoming adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s bestselling fantasy saga A Song of Ice and Fire.

Set to debut in spring 2011, Game of Thrones takes its name from the first novel in Martin’s planned seven-book epic, set on a mythical, medieval continent torn between a dynastic civil war, a threat of invasion from the north and the impending return of the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

The series’ sprawling cast includes Mark Addy as King Robert Barathon, Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy, Sean Bean as Eddard “Ned” Stark, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Michelle Fairley as Catelyn Stark, Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Aidan Gillen as Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Isaac Hempstead-Wright as Bran Stark, Harry Lloyd as Viserys Targaryen, Richard Madden as Robb Stark, Rory McCann as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, and Maisie Williams as Arya Stark.
