Two Queens Circling Two Snow Whites

 

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall: Who is the Wickedest of them all? That’s the question that some are currently asking, as two separate Snow White projects try to line up their evil Queens.

Deadline reports that both The Brothers Grimm: Snow White and competing project Snow White and the Huntsman are looking to lock in their matriarchal villains, with Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron in the running for each film, respectively (The Brothers Grimm is described as an “edgy” reimagining of the fairy tale, to be directed by the man behind Jennifer Lopez thriller The Cell, while The Huntsman – which has been rumored to be on Theron’s radar for some time – will feature a more traditional tone, apparently, even if the focus may shift towards a more pro-active heroine). But if any actress was coveting the role and feels gypped that she didn’t get her appropriate chance for these films, don’t worry; there’s yet another Snow White movie in the works, this time Disney’s Snow and The Seven. It’ll be interesting to see how many of these projects stay in production if next year’s Red Riding Hood tanks…
