Axel-In-Charge: Bringing "Dead No More" to FCBD, the Original "Civil War's" Legacy
The search for Honest Abe is nearly over. Deadline reports that five actors are in the mix to play the 16th President of the United States in director Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, an adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel.
According to the report, the frontrunners to fill out the bearded hunter’s shoes are Benjamin Walker, James D’Arcy, Adrien Brody, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Josh Lucas. In a previous edition of their story, Deadline mentioned that Timothy Olyphant was also in the running; that information has since been pulled, which is a shame, because Olyphant is always a good choice for anything. See Justified for more details.
As for the other contenders, it’s a mixture of names you know and names you don’t. Brody and Lucas are the “A-listers” of the group, while Walker’s name might be familiar due to his brief attachment to X-Men: First Class as Henry McCoy. That part ultimately went to Nicholas Hoult. All of the actors are reportedly screen-testing this week and next. So much for Eric Bana, I guess.
Of the listed contenders, who would you like to see hunting vampires as Abraham Lincoln?
