Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
If you own an iPhone or an iPad — really, an iAnything — then you’re most likely familiar with Angry Birds already. If you’re not, well, good. It’s a horribly addicting game, and if you get into it, it won’t be long before you’re tossing and turning every single night dreaming of those stupid pigs, green and cackling and taunting. Always with the taunting. It should be avoided at all costs, unless you’re looking for one of the most entertaining and easily accessible games currently on the market. In that case, pursue with caution.
Angry Birds enthusiasts will be delighted to hear that there’s more bird-smashing fun headed their way in the near future. The New York Post reports that an animated series based on the popular touch-screen game is in development. Exactly how it will air — as a television series or as webisodes — remains unclear. Really, everything about the series is mostly unknown at this point, though we can assume it’ll have something to do with birds suicide bombing those dastardly pigs on a regular basis.
There isn’t much story to speak of when it comes to Angry Birds, but if done right, this could be a lot of fun. Of course, I’m hopelessly addicted to Angry Birds, so I would say that.
And now, to give you an idea of what an Angry Birds series might look like, here are some official videos animated by the folks at Rovio!
