More Shots Of Spider-Man In Action

On the web-covered heels of those first close-up images of Spider-Man in action comes another round of shots from the Los Angeles set of the Sony Pictures reboot.

The photos, which arrive courtesy of On Location News and SuperHero Hype, show a costume-clad clinging to the tops and sides of trucks and, well, just hanging out between takes. If you’re looking for something a little more action-y, there’s also shaky video of the wall-crawler swinging from a moving tractor-trailer. See the YouTube video and a couple of photos below, and visit SuperHero Hype for the others.

The still-untitled Spider-Man movie stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Campbell Scott, C. Thomas Howell, Julianne Nicholson and Annie Parisse. The film, which began production last month, will be released on July 3, 2012.

    It just gets worse.

  • The Hudda Budda

Looks a great deal better than it did before. On film I’m sure it’ll be fine. Another example of fans spazzing out at the slightest provocation.

The only issue with the suit i have is the shoes. Hopefully this is just apart of the stunt portion and will get edited out.

  • Michael Parsons

Looking more and more like the shoes are in fact wrestling boots. Check it out here.

My major beef is with the design, it looks…wrong. It just doesn’t look like Spider-Man, with those lame tribal like flourishes. Spidey’s costume is crisp, no flowing, it doesn’t feature curvy tapering elements, it’s sharp lines and abrupt shifts in color. This is all too showy for a geek. Hopefully this is he wrestling outfit and Peter changes it to something more akin to the actual Spider-Man costume.

    I like it.

How does it not look like Spider-man?

Red mask with big, black trimmed eyes? Check.

Red torso with blue along the sides and under the arms? Check.

Red gloves (albeit with blue fingers)? Check.

Red boots (albeit with silver trimming though it may just be for stunt purposes)? Check.

    Web-like pattern? Check.

Seriously, this griping about the costume is the same griping about every superhero costume that’s showed up over the years.

Not trying to single you out by the way Jack. It’s just I popped on over from SHH and I’ve never seen so much whining from supposed comic fans in my life. I’d wager most of them don’t even read the comics anymore.

You realize everything you described about the ideal Spider-Man costume is actually there (or wrong), right?

  • Jacob

Now that we can see the bottoms of his feet, I’m starting to think they are just shoes to protect his toesies during filming. Even if they don’t get edited out though (they’re real-life function would fit remarkably well in-universe), I don’t hate them. I’m actually starting to like the costume.

  • The comicboss

Im sorry but this thing looks great. The more I hear bout this movie the more cyced I am to see it. All the griping about this costume is absolute BS.

  • Mak

Just what I wanted to see, Spider-ass. Now why is it that there is a pic of his ass in the air? I know it’s not to show off “Web-Head’s” feet. Could have done a close up of that…

“I’ve never seen so much whining from supposed comic fans in my life”

I find this hard to believe.
