PREVIEWS: "Daredevil," "Uncanny X-Men," & More Marvel Comics On Sale August 3, 2016
When last we heard from director Stephen Sommers, he was dropping out of — or maybe fired from — the planned sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. However, it looks as if he landed on his feet.
Yelchin will play the title character, a 20-year-old short-order cook who can see the spirits of the dead. Odd’s first adventure, in the 2003 novel Odd Thomas, involves finding the killer of a young girl and averting the disaster that threatens the small desert town of Pico Mundo, Calif. The character appeared in three sequels — Forever Odd, Brother Odd and Odd Hours — and two graphic-novel prequels.
The 21-year-old Yelchin, who also appeared in Alpha Dog and Charlie Bartlett, stars as Charley Brewster in DreamWorks’ upcoming remake of Fright Night.
