Paul Bettany Talks "Age of Ultron," Working with James Spader & More
Nicholas Hoult, plays Henry McCoy in the upcoming X-Men: First Class, is negotiating to star in director Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer, Deadline reports.
He’ll join the just-cast Bill Nighy, Stanley Tucci and John Kassir in the revisionist take on the classic Jack and the Beanstalk story. The 21-year-old actor, who got his break in About a Boy before going on to star in Skins and A Single Man, will play a farmer who leads the charge into the giants’ kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess.
Tucci portrays movie’s main villain, the king’s advisor, while Nighy and Kassir are the two heads of the leader of the giants. Christopher McQuarrie (The Wolverine), who teamed with Singer on The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie, wrote the screenplay with Mark Bomback (Constantine, Race to Witch Mountain) and Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After).
