  • The Ghost That Never Lies

    1) How did Letterman & Kimmel get a nomination over Leno and Conan?

    2) I doubt Comedy Central will allow South Park to lose to Family Guy, the Simpsons, or American Dad.

    3) How are Glee and Modern Family nominated, but HIMYM isn’t?

How is Community not nominated at all?
It is, by a wide margin, the single best comedy show since Arrested Development.
At least they got a nomination for their direction (which is awesome), while The Increasing decisions of Todd Margaret (Yet another underappreciated gem) isn’t even mentioned.

At least they didn’t nominate laugh-track scripted shows such as the totally crappy Big Bang Theory or How I met Your Mother.

This is hardly the first ever Comedy Awards show. It might be a first for Comedy Central but it’s hardly the first comedy awards. ABC had one in the 80’s but lack of interest eventually killed it.

Leno I totally understand not getting the nomination, but I totally agree with you on Conan. Ferguson should’ve gotten a nomination too.

Community and Parks and Rec get snubbed yet again. Community is one of the most creative and well written shows on TV and I can’t think of a single show that gets more laughs out of me than Parks and Rec (Besides The Onion’s new shows).

  • Kdiebold

Why is The League not involved in this? This season was by far more funny than 30 Rock or Modern Family

  • Clemfold

I’m guessing Parks and Rec only missed out because it didn’t air a new series last year. It’s airing again now, but most awards committees have a specific time period to work within, making Parks and Rec eligible next year.

Conan and Leno were likely not nominated to avoid pissing off their fans; the controversy is still too fresh on their minds. Maybe next year.

How the Hell did Kickass and Hot Tub Time Machine get nominated for ANYTHING? Other than lamest movies of 2010.

As for animated comedies, Megamind should win; the others were better movies, but not funnier.
