Character Designs Revealed For Madhouse’s X-Men Anime Series
Japanese television network Animax has unveiled the character designs for Madhouse Studios’ upcoming adaptation of Marvel’s X-Men, set to debut on April 1.
Although the trailer surfaced a couple of weeks ago, I think this is our first look at the anime’s take on Hisako Ichiki (aka Armor), a character introduced during Joss Whedon and John Cassaday’s run on Astonishing X-Men. According to Anime News Network and Marvel, the series is set a year after the death of Jean Grey as the disbanded X-Men are summoned by Charles Xavier to find the abducted Armor and confront the U-Men, the mutant organ-stealing cult created by Grant Morrison.
X-Men is one of four Marvel anime adaptations written by Warren Ellis and produced by Madhouse. Iron Man and Wolverine have already aired on Animax; Blade will premiere this summer. G4 announced at Comic-Con International that it will air all four series sometime this year.
