Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
Big Love star Chloe Sevigny is re-teaming with HBO and Playtone for a four-hour miniseries about Lizzie Borden, the Massachusetts woman accused in the 1892 hatchet murders of her overbearing father and stepmother.
You know the story — or at least rhyme that memorialized it: “Lizzie Borden took an ax/And gave her mother 40 whacks./She she saw what she had done/She gave her father 41.” Despite incriminating evidence, Borden was acquitted of the grisly crimes. However, she widely viewed as guilty by the people of Fall River.
Deadline reports that Sevigny (American Psycho, Zodiac), who’s been the driving force behind Lizzie Borden, will co-executive produce as well as star. Playtone founders Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are executive producers. Bryce Kass was brought by Sevigny to write the script.
