Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Hollywood apparently hasn’t heard that people are having a rough time finding jobs right now. In a sweeping update today, Deadline reported confirmations on new cast members in several upcoming films, including two that I’d wager the bulk of you readers are particularly interested in: Underworld 4 and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Underworld gets Michael Ealy (Seven Pounds), who will star with Kate Beckinsale as a police officer who ends up falling in with the vampire. The story follows Beckinsale’s Selene as she learns that she has a 14-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter. Ealy will presumably be out of his element facing off against all manner of supernatural beasties with a police-issue revolver, but something tells me he’ll get the hang of it before the credits roll.
Also confirmed is Robin McLeavy for Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, in which she’ll play Honest Abe’s mother Nancy Hanks Lincoln. As anyone who has read the book knows, Nancy’s role is a small yet important one. She shows up early and sets the stage for many of the events to come.
