Why The Russos Are The Best Thing to Happen to the MCU Since Joss Whedon
One of the more intriguing tidbits emerging over the weekend from the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo originated in The Walking Dead panel, where co-star Laurie Holden revealed, “I heard a rumor that Stephen King’s going to write [an episode].” Although it may have sounded too good to be true, it turns out it’s more than mere rumor.
The master of horror confirms to Entertainment Weekly that he is, indeed, in talks to write an episode of AMC’s hit zombie series, although it remains to be seen whether it would be for Season 2 or Season 3. It would be a reunion for King and executive producer Frank Darabont, who’s directed three films based on the author’s work: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist.
But wait! There’s more! King reveals the plan is for him to co-write the episode with his son Joe Hill, bestselling author of Heart-Shaped Box and Horns and writer of the acclaimed comic-book series Locke & Key.
Based on the long-running comic series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, The Walking Dead will return for its second season this fall.
