‘An Avenger Will Rise': Two New TV Spots Premiere For Thor

Not to be outdone, Marvel and Paramount Pictures have rolled out two new television spots for director Kenneth Branagh’s Thor, which opens on May 6.

It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings Joshua Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Rene Russo, Clark Gregg and Samuel L. Jackson.

needs a shave, but seems to capture the spirit of the Odinson

The Hulk in the second clip? . . . Nice :D Avengers is on the way

These commercials showcase some great action, but they aren’t edited together well, and the narration (and title cards) don’t fit.

  • Ryan

Sorry. But these don’t do anything to inspire confidence.

  • Jacob

    Noooo that beard is sexy.

  • Jacob

Love the use of Iron Man and Hulk. Also the use of the term “Avengers” with “The First Avenger” coming out not long after. The more observant viewers (those that don’t already know) might begin to suspect something’s going on here.

I hope that they start using the helmet. I actually like the movie helmet – it looks much more sleek and warrior-like than the regular comic helmet.
