Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Just a day after it debuted the first official images from Fright Night, DreamWorks has released three more photos from director Craig Gillespie’s 3D remake of the 1985 cult horror-comedy. Unfortunately, however, we’re yet to be treated to a look at David Tennant as Peter Vincent. Perhaps to soften that blow, the studio also sent out high-res versions of those earlier stills (which were pretty small).
Fright Night, which opens in 2D and 3D on Aug. 19, stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, David Tennant, Imogen Poots and Toni Collette. Here’s the official synopsis:
In the film, senior Charlie Brewster (Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself.
