The Social Network’s Josh Pence Joins The Dark Knight Rises

The Social Network‘s Josh Pence reportedly has been cast as a young Ra’s al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises.

According to Heat Vision, Pence will take on the role played by Liam Neeson in 2005’s Batman Begins for flashback scenes set 30 years in the past. His casting would seem to confirm speculation that Marion Cotillard will portray Talia al Ghul, daughter of Bruce Wayne’s mentor-turned-nemesis, in the final chapter of director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

A rumor that emerged last month suggests that Talia will succeed her father as leader of the League of Shadows, with her muscle/possible love interest Bane (Tom Hardy) at her side.

Pence, who played opposite Armie Hammer as Tyler Winklevoss in The Social Network — his face was digitally replaced with Hammer’s — next appears alongside Neeson in Battleship.

He joins a cast that so far includes Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and, presumably, Marion Cotillard. The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20, 2012.

With any other director I’d be worried about the rapidly expanding cast, but I trust Nolan. After all TDK brought Two-Face, Joker, Maroni, Lau and others to the series without losing focus.

Dude, Talia is the perfect villain for the third movie considering then it would connect the first one to this film…and yes, in the comics Bane & Talia were an item so it is cannon!

Well glad to see Talia and Ra’s… But Bane and Talia? In the comics Ra’s wanted to marry Talia to Bane, but she rejected him…. I’d like to see her as love interest to Bruce, I just can’t see her with anyone else….

    Me too.
Talia as Bruce´s new love interest and not Selina again!

So I’m guessing we’ll be getting a Catwoman vs. Talia fight scene, huh? Well, it’ll bound to be better than the Batgirl vs. Poison Ivy fight from the movie which shall not be named.
