New Green Lantern Images Show Ryan Reynolds In Full CG Suit

Warner Bros. has released three new high-resolution images of Ryan Reynolds in his fully computer-generated Green Lantern suit. Although the poses may be familiar from earlier promotional materials, these full-body shots are, I believe, the first time we’ve seen all of a costumed Hal Jordan, from his modified domino mask right down to his green-clad toes. Yes, you can see individual toes in the movie uniform.

Directed by Martin Campbell, Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Temuera Morrison, Jay O. Sanders, Taika Waititi and Jon Tenney. It opens in 3D and 2D on June 17.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

You’re right. Most do get their looks revamped from time to time. Apart from the Parallax thing, though, Hal Jordan’s look has stayed pretty consistent as opposed to, say, the changes on Batman’s armor.

I say this comment and was all “Wut?” then realized the proper word is saw and was all “Ugh.”

Except for the toes, the costume looks okay. Just okay, and not as good as it should be… Look at Batman’s from the first two Christian Bale Batman films… Those are fantastic!
Even in the comics, GL’s feet were covered in boots… How come we get this monstrosity after having waited for so long?
