Watch First Scene From Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2

A new behind-the-scenes featurette for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 dovetails into the opening scene from the franchise finale as Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) receives a dire warning from Mr. Ollivander (John Hurt).

Directed by David Yates, the movie also stars Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Miranda Richardson, Warwick Davis, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Brendan Gleeson, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kelly Macdonald and a host of others. It opens on July 15.

In the franchise finale of the Harry Potter film series, Voldemort’s power is growing stronger. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore’s work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But little hope remains for them, so everything they do must go as planned.

Feels weird with it out of context. I also must question them opening with this scene instead of moving Dobby’s burial to this part. They should have opened Part 2 with them at Bill’s house and Harry all depressed. My favorite scene in the book was him digging Dobby’s grave in Bill’s garden (at least I think it was in his garden). I liked ending it with Voldey opening Dumbledore’s tomb, it create a great sense of foreboding, but this is kind of a jarring opening after such an emotional ending of Part 1.
