Hilarious New <i>Thor</i> Promo Spoofs Darth Vader Super Bowl Spot  

Marvel has debuted a promotional spot for Thor that hilariously spoofs the Darth Vader Volkswagen television commercial that eclipsed all of the other Super Bowl ads.

In keeping with the tradition of Marvel’s cinematic universe, “Little Thor” contains a handful of clever Easter eggs, most notably the “Loki” water dish, the Stark coffee mug, the Iron Man air freshener and the “A5G 4RD” license plate. There are probably others I’ve missed.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings Joshua Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Rene Russo, Clark Gregg and Samuel L. Jackson. Thor opens in the United States on May 6.

    There’s a Thor action figure behind the doll on the bed, the design from the Copiel/JMS run. Also the fact that Thor is played by a little girl (everything’s pink), a possible reference to Thor Girl.

    I noticed the pink as well and thought that he was trying to destroy his kid sister’s doll in her room. Are you sure that little Thor is a girl? If so, that is a pretty cool nod to Thor Girl!!

    It’s not the sisters room. There is a Thor toy on the bed. That means the resident of that room is female AND a fan AND a child. Factor in the long blonde hair (uncommon for a boy that age), the pink room that belongs to a fan, and that the kid is clearly a fan, you arrive at Thor Girl. ^_^

    its not a girl at all, its a direct reflection of what occurs in the original commercial. in the original with vader boy – little vader tries to force choke a little doll (probably not trying to choke his own doll …) so in this one little thor is trying to destroy the doll. the thor action figure in the background is just an easter egg in the video i think too, kinda like how the dog dish says loki, the coffee cup says stark, and the license plate says asgard, long blonde hair just equals viking and thor – boys can have long hair too.
