Stars Of AMC’s The Killing Track Down Big-Screen Roles

Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman, who’ve earned acclaim as the perfectly mismatched detectives in AMC’s gripping new crime drama The Killing, have now drawn the attention of movie studios, with each landing a high-profile role in the past 24 hours.

Deadline reports that Enos is in talks to play Brad Pitt’s wife in director Marc Forster’s adaptation of World War Z. Based on the 2006 horror novel by Max Brooks, the movie picks up a decade after a worldwide zombie war as a researcher for the United Nations Postwar Commission (Pitt) interviews survivors in countries decimated by the conflict. J. Michael Straczynski and Matt Carnahan wrote the screenplay for Paramount Pictures.

Meanwhile, Heat Vision reports that Kinnaman is joining Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in Safe House. The Universal Pictures thriller follows the only surviving agent of an attack on a CIA safe house (Reynolds) as he tries to transport a prisoner (Washington) to another location before being killed by forces that want them both dead. Kinnaman will play the operator of a safe house, a role that reunites him with Easy Money (Snabba Cash) director Daniel Espinosa.

The Killing, now in its fifth week, has proved a ratings hit for AMC. The drama airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
