Is This Our First Peek At The Lizard From The Amazing Spider-Man?

We’ve already seen countless photos from The Amazing Spider-Man‘s New York City location shoots, providing us with shots of Oscorp Industries, a skateboard-toting Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone in the back of a police cruiser and more. But the latest, which comes courtesy of Pink is the New Blog, is by far the strangest and most intriguing.

It’s may be star Rhys Ifans in Lizard makeup that’s, alas, obscured by some kind of full-body parka and makeshift mask. The blog contends it’s Ifans, but without access to facial-recognition software, it’s difficult to say for certain. Latino Review reminds us of the rumored, and potentially awesome, plot point involving S.W.A.T. team members who mutate into reptilian creatures, so it could be one of them.

Directed by Marc Webb The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Campbell Scott, C. Thomas Howell, Julianne Nicholson and Annie Parisse. The film opens on July 3, 2012.

So paparazzi are now 13 year-old-girls whom have found the photo-booth app on their phone!?

Doesn’t look any worse than an issue of the Amazing Spider-man right now.

ASM has been firing on all cylinders, most months. It’s come a long way since OMD.

  • Ryan

I 100% agree with Jacob. Dan Slott is killing it on ASM

Agreed! Dan Slott and company have been working their asses off bringing character and fun back to ASM.

  • maths

Yeah, the trolling of current ASM is getting a little tiresome, and ignorant. Slott’s doing a great job. Has been for some time.

  • nick

Yeah, other than the fact that it’s bullshit fan-fiction and not, you know … the real Spider-Man we’ve all read for the past 30 years. Other than that, I’m sure it’s just great.

95% of all comics being written today for Marvel and DC are fan-fiction. All of them profess to having grown up on these characters, which makes them fans. Writing fiction. About things they’re fans of. Which is fan-fiction. Also, you’re calling what Dan Slott is doing “bullshit” when it wasn’t even him who wrote OMD (It was Quesada who wanted it done, JMS had the misfortune of having his run neutered in order to make it happen). It also hasn’t been thirty-years since Peter and MJ got married. AND, the original writer of that story didn’t even want them to get married.
