The Expendables 2 Gets A Poster And A Spoiler-Filled Synopsis

Before jumping in with the news, here’s a PSA: SPOILER ALERT.

You have been warned.

The Expendables was a fun Dudes With Guns romp, perhaps not as over-the-top in the action department as expectations might have pegged it at, but totally wacky. You had Sylvester Stallone, who also wrote and directed, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Jason Statham, Jet Li … goofy ensemble action with a soaring body count and a heartfelt monologue from Mickey Rourke.

Seriously, what’s not to like about that?

Last we heard, The Expendables 2 could happen with Stallone ceding writing/directing duties to someone else. That’s still a possibility, since the official movie page at Nu Image doesn’t list any names alongside the movie. It does, however, contain a synopsis, which you can read below if you don’t mind some spoilage. There’s also a poster (pictured above), brought to you by the fine folks at FirstShowing.

The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They’re not the only ones who want blood. Tool’s beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.

God I hope it’s better than the first piece of crap – I’ll wait for download.

Gotta love posters who trash a film, but then admit that they’re then going to download it later to watch. Gotta love the fanboy logic : P

Oh I almost certainly won’t watch it, but if I do happen to I certainly won’t be paying money for it. I simply mean that I didn’t like the first film; I thought it was terrible. I hold out hope that this one could be better, but rather than spend money on it I will wait until it is available on the internet, or if a friend has a copy and give it a try that way. Does that clear up my “fanboy logic” for you bud?
