Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Did you like The Other Guys? If so, then this news is definitely for you. Stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will once again play with their odd on-screen chemistry in the upcoming comedy Turkey Bowl, Deadline reports. The Warner Bros. release will revolve around two neighboring towns that both love football almost as much as they love antagonizing one another. Ferrell and Wahlberg will lead opposing teams in an annual tackle football game between the rival communities.
Deadline reveals that the plan is to “pack [the movie] with fun cameos,” comparing the football showdown to Anchorman‘s now-legendary newscaster gang fight. Alec Baldwin is also set for the movie, to play Wahlberg’s father. He won’t be the sole member of 30 Rock kicking around, either. The script will be penned by the NBC comedy series’ writer/show runner Robert Carlock and Friends writer/producer Scott Silveri.
I often feel like I might be the only one who didn’t love The Other Guys, but I’m willing to give this one a shot. If only because I want to see Baldwin-as-dad verbally thrash Wahlberg-as-son.
