Sam Neill Confirms Extinction Of Jurassic Park Franchise

Dang.

Maybe it was foolish to hope for another Jurassic Park movie, even though the third one was actually above average. Sam Neill, also known as Dr. Alan Grant, has set the record straight on future dinosaur movies spun off from Michael Crichton’s sci-fi novel, and it’s not what we want to hear.

“I think we’ve told the story. I think it’s done,” he told MTV in an interview. “Stan Winston, who made those beautiful dinosaurs, died. … Crichton died, too.”

“I’ll tell you what. If Michael Crichton time travels, writes the book [and] Stan time travels [and] reanimates dinosaurs, then absolutely.”

With an imagination like that, maybe Neill should write the book and the movie himself. Watch the video below to hear the same quotes you just read spoken and, more importantly, to see the Jurassic Park star give his best impression of a velociraptor.

I was pretty pleased with the trilogy but I can’t say I was hurting for more.

But if Crichton and Winston DO time travel back to make another, then hell, I’ll pay to watch that.

If you don’t want to make it without them involved, hand pick somebody who would do the franchise justice with a surprisingly good reboot.

who’s the blonde with the nice rack in the video?

How can Sam Neill confirm the Extinction of this franchise. I preferred the Steven Spielberg-Jeff Goldblum sequel much more than the Joe Johnston-Sam Neill sequel.

I only want a sequel if Jeff Goldblum and Steven Spielberg returns. I don’t want Joe Johnston or Sam Neill anywhere near the new films/

I’d prefer to see a complete reboot, sticking as close as possible to the book, and as a mini-series on HBO or something. While I do enjoy the film franchise, the books are much, much better and have not been represented well by Spielberg or Johnston.

The 90′s just called… and who cares?

Two was alright and Three was pretty lame. Better to let the series die if this is the best they can produce. Shame though, I love Sam Neil as Alan Grant.

It’s precisely what I want to hear. JP3 was horrid and I’m glad we end before it gets worse and starts stooping to michael bay/sw prequel levels.
