Cinemax’s The Transporter Series Delivers Its Lead Actors

Cinemax’s The Transporter has found its Frank Martin.

Deadline reports that Chris Vance, best known for his roles in Prison Break and Burn Notice, will star in the action series based on Luc Besson’s hit movie franchise.

He’ll, of course, play the professional transporter — the role originated by Jason Statham — who will deliver anything, anywhere, for the right price. Frank Martin operates by a simple, but strict, set of rules: Never change the deal; no names; never open the package; and never make a promise you can’t keep.

Andrea Osvárt has also been cast as the female lead, Frank’s handler Carla, a former CIA operative who organizes his missions and, in Deadline’s words, “continually stokes the flames of their unrequited attraction.”

Cinemax has made a 12-episode commitment to The Transporter, which is produced by French company Atlantique and executive produced by Besson.

I thought the Transporter movies were fun action flicks with a cool central character. Although I think Statham pretty much owned that role, a TV version could be fun, IMO. Vance could be a good choice as Martin.

I think a Transporter TV series could be interesting as long as they have a real plot and not try and just like the films.

Chris Vance did some great work on Burn Notice. Hopefully the writers take heed and give him some good material to work with.
