Banshee Takes Flight In Latest Clip From X-Men: First Class

As we move one day closer to the June 3 opening of X-Men: First Class, Twentieth Century Fox has released yet another clip from the Matthew Vaughn-directed film. While yesterday’s clip onslaught was pretty somber, populated by a butt-kicking Hellfire Club, an unhappy Magneto and a detached Emma Frost, this one is far more lighthearted, focusing on the struggle by Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) to use his sonic powers for flight.

X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme, January Jones as Emma Frost, Lucas Till as Alex Summers, Caleb Landry Jones as Sean Cassidy, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, Edi Gathegi as Darwin, Oliver Platt as the Man in Black, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggart and Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore.

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

I have to admit, I wasn’t going to see this in theaters, but now I’m all about going to it opening weekend! It’s looking better & better!

I wish he had an Irish accent…

  • Faust

That was AMAZING! Eric pushing him was great, and I love that Banshee is a red head, but I’m pissed he isn’t Irish! – Thats actually why I normally like Banshee so much! – hes got my two favorite things – red hair and a British accent! Hel-lo! haha….

I remember when they killed him off. It was just like nothing. A sad little moment and that was it. It’s like he wasn’t important.

You probably shouldn’t ever call an Irish person’s accent “British” infront of them – not only are they very different, but there is the distinct possibility they’ll get annoyed, what with Ireland being a separate country where a lot of people still probably aren’t pleased with the whole Northern Ireland thing…

  • Faust

I didn’t say he was English.

British – Great Britain – United Kingdom represents all 4 countries. England, Ireland, Scottland and Wales.

No it doesn’t, and as I’m English myself I would hope I would know… The Republic of Ireland is one country and the UK is another.  The UKs four main constituent parts are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  In the latters case, given that over 3000 people ended up being killed between the 60s and late 90s relating to the subject of whether Northern Ireland should be part of the UK or Ireland, there are probably a lot of people out there who would consider you thinking Ireland part of the UK very ignorant…
