Terry O’Quinn Joins Hawaii 5-0

Lost star Terry O’Quinn has landed a recurring role on CBS’s Hawaii 5-0, bringing him back to the island to reunite with former castmate Daniel Dae Kim.

TVLine reports that O’Quinn, who won an Emmy Award for his portrayal of John Locke, will play a Navy SEAL lieutenant commander who trained Alex O’Loughlin’s McGarrett, and served with his father in Vietnam. The strong and stubborn character apparently holds some of the answers to the mysteries surrounding the murders of McGarrett’s mother and father.

O’Quinn, who recently starred in the rejected ABC pilot Hallelujah, had been set to reunite with J.J. Abrams and Michael Emerson for a comedic drama for NBC about former black-ops agents. However, a late script pushed the network’s commitment to next season. Emerson remained in the Abrams camp, starring opposite Jim Caviezel in the upcoming CBS thriller Person of Interest. Fellow Lost alumnus Jorge Garcia stuck with what he knows, too: He’ll appear in Abrams’ thriller Alcatraz, debuting at midseason on Fox.

    This could be fun.

They  need to liven up that show. Got bored with it half way through last season, haven’t watched it since. Guess I’ll give it another try, now.

The stupidest thing they did was bring back original characters rather than have the sense and imagination to create a new generation that follows them.  Because of that, I could not watch anymore.

So you had to stop watching a -remake- of a TV show because in it, they decided to use the same characters rather than make new ones? … For a remake?

Very cool. I like the new Hawaii Five-0 and this makes me even more excited about next season. O’Quinn is a very good actor. It’ll be cool to see him in a show again.
