Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Ian McShane joined the cast of Snow White and the Huntsman only yesterday as the lead dwarf Caesar, and Universal has now begun assembling his colorful band of followers. Oddly, the studio continues to pursue average-sized people for these key roles rather than going after established little-people actors.
Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan and Steven Graham are all said to be in negotiations for the movie’s other dwarf roles, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. It looks like the old standards of Grumpy, Sneezy, Dopey, et al, are going out the window for Huntsman; Izzard is pegged for the “the biggest and burliest” dwarf Tiberius, Jones will play the timid Claudius and Hoskins will play the blind Constantine.
We already knew that director Rupert Sanders’ movie would be remixing the original fairy tale. Snow (Kristen Stewart) will escape from the clutches of her wicked stepmother (Charlize Theron) with some help from the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), who then trains the newly independent young girl how to fight.
