Pruitt Taylor Vince Cast As Otis
In The Walking Dead Season 2
Deadwood alum Pruitt Taylor Vince has been cast as Otis, the polite yet racist farm foreman, in AMC’s The Walking Dead, TVLine reports.
Introduced in Issue 9 of the Robert Kirkman-Charlie Adlard comic series, Otis is responsible — through a terrible mishap — of bringing the survivors to Hershel Greene’s farm, where much of Season 2 will take place. Although kind and good-natured, the Otis in the comic has shown racism toward some of the black characters, because Kirkman “wanted to throw in some people that aren’t evil but aren’t so nice either.”
Vince, who played Mose Manuel on HBO’s Deadwood, recently had a recurring role on The Mentalist.
Filming began early this month on the 13-episode second season of The Walking Dead, which will debut in October. Check out the video diary from the first day of production below.
