Torchwood’s Russell T. Davies Developing Drama For Showtime

Ahead of Friday’s premiere of Torchwood: Miracle Day comes the news that creator Russell T. Davies is developing a gay-themed drama with BBC Worldwide for Showtime.

The Live Feed reports that Davies, who created the acclaimed 1999 British television series Queer as Folk, will again focus on the lives of gay men in the project, titled Cucumber. Showtime produced the successful American remake of Queer as Folk, which aired on the cable channel from 2000 to 2005.

Davies revived Doctor Who for BBC after a 16-year hiatus and created the popular spinoffs Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. He left Doctor Who has executive producer in January 2010, and his overseeing production of Miracle Day.

    Its called Cucumber? haha…unless the series is based in a fruit and veg store it doesn’t seem like that great of a name.

    That being said – I will be watching it! Loved both QAF and Doctor Who. ;)
