Arnold Schwarzenegger Set To Star In The Western Last Stand

Arnold Schwarzenegger put all of his upcoming actorly commitments on hold at the end of May after some personal issues came into the spotlight, but it looks like he’s now ready to get back to work. The former California governor is set to star in director Kim-ji-Woon’s English-language debut, Last Stand, Deadline reports.

A Lionsgate exec described the project as “an old-fashioned Western specifically designed for a 63-year-old broken-down guy with a moral decision whether Arnold decides to stand up for his town.” Liam Neeson was previously attached to the role Schwarzenegger is stepping into, and the movie will apparently go into production as early as September.

So basically if this was a yr or so ago— he could have easily played CONANS father in the new remake.  DAAAMN IT!!

Dear Arnold- NO ONE wants to see you in a friggn western– Do somthing akin to ROCKY BALBOA but in a contempoary setting– with lotsa action.

Good to see Schwarzenegger get back in the saddle after his personal mess, but I have a feeling this “old-fashioned Western” isn’t going to be THAT old-fashioned. It’ll probably have some insane action sequences, IMO.

I think we’re being to harsh about Ahnold starring in a western.  Doesn’t anyone remember his previous blockbuster star-making role as “Handsome Stranger” in Kirk Douglas’ epic The Villain.  He was great!!

In fact when you mix medication with alcohol pretty much everything Ahnuld has done is great, even Junior!!!  Try it, you’ll love it.

Nice to know someone else remembers the Villian.

I love ‘Choonieehr’, especially the bits with Arnie crying for Danny DeVito, but I always liked Detecktif Jahn Kimbuhl in Kindergarten Cop more.
